2020 Summerfest on the Rio – Festival News – Monday, April 29th, 2020

Dear Summerfest Friends and Family,

In light of the current uncertainty around community events and large gatherings moving forward; Summerfest on the Rio has tentatively been pushed back to August 14-15, 2020 with the same two day schedule and location as originally planned. We will continue to provide public information regarding the festival as conditions evolve.

Arts and crafts and food vendor applications are still being accepted. Reasonable sponsorship opportunities are available as well. If the decision is made to cancel the event for 2020, all applicants will be refunded in full.

We are also looking for community-minded people to volunteer for a couple hours during the festival to help sell beverage tickets. This small but valuable commitment helps us keep the festival free to attendees by avoiding staffing costs. Plus, giving back to community feels good too; you may even get a few drink tickets! To sign up or for more information please contact . Just a reminder there is no admission to the public for this event.

The Summerfest Committee would like to thank you for your support, wish you and yours the best and we look forward to future events.

Welcome to SummerFest on the Rio, the San Luis Valley’s way of kicking off summertime fun. This annual festival depicts extensive arts and craft talents, musical entertainment for the entire family, and a multitude of activities for the kids. Walk along the winding Rio Grande in the beautiful spacious Cole Park while contemplating something from a large variety of food and drink.

The festival takes place the first weekend in June each year. Everyone is ready to go Friday at 2:00 p.m. The food and beer garden gear up for the SummerFest’s signature concerts in the park from 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. and 7:00-9:30 p.m.

Saturday proves to be a big hit with the families. The park starts buzzing at 8:00 a.m. with the annual benefit Poker Run. Vendors are all set to go at 10:00 a.m. looking forward to the community interaction. Multiple musical genres are represented on stage at the north end of the park. Music starts at 11:00 a.m. and a final amazing act winds it down by 9:30 p.m.

In order to offer the community the best quality entertainment, the festival will run Friday and Saturday only and no longer is open on Sunday.
